When decorating your bedroom, try to use yin colors that are soft and warm and have a tranquil vibe. The bedroom is a place where we sleep and wind down from a hard day's work so we don't want to feel active and over stimulated. Soft blues, greens, and neutrals are good examples of calming bedroom colors while strong reds and yellows should be kept at a minimum and used sparingly. Go by your feel and have fun with it. Select an ideal color that creates a room that is enjoyable and helps wind you down before sleep.


The bedroom below was decorated using off whites, grays, and neutral tones. These neutral yin colors were chosen to create a sense of calmness and tranquility, perfect for sleep. The windows to the right help balance out the room by letting in plenty of yang energy from the sunlight to offset the yin colors.

Your bed is probably the most important piece of furniture in the bedroom. The owner of this house chose an upholstered headboard that is solid but gentle and supportive. In feng shui, a good solid headboard helps give you stability when you sleep. On the other hand, going without one might weaken your energy and does not provide energetic support and strength.
